Similar to Undertale, it relies on good dialogue, a nice leitmotif and humor that a certain target audience understands. I feel like your a little too restricted at the beginning, blocked off from certain parts of the town which I think are unfinished. Keep up the good work!
H3H3 RPG: Origin Demo
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Current Version: Demo v1.01 (January 4, 2017)
- Added fast-scrolling through text, minor cosmetic improvements, and an error that sometimes caused the battle to run behind the video tutorial.
H3H3 RPG is a comedic adventure romp full of goofs and gaffs. Gameplay is inspired by classics like Final Fantasy, Earthbound, and Pokémon, with a ZANY, EDGY story inspired by the YouTube channel H3H3productions. Better lube up, 'cause it's a wild ride!
Controls are simple - Arrow Keys and an "A" and "B" button.
This game is made for all H3H3 fans, whether old or new, and aims to also succeed as a legitimate, full-length, substantial RPG that will satisfy fans of the genre. It will take me a few more months before I finish the full game, and I hope to have it out by the end of 2017 at the latest.
The "Origin Demo" was released on December 24th, 2016! It's a short teaser with the first chapter of Ethan's side of the story and a secret ending IF you collect all the Shekels! If you are unfamiliar with itch.io, know that you don't have to pay and you only download the file you want after you click "Download Now".
This is a free, fan-made goof. It's not officially endorsed by H3H3productions. I'm a huge fan who also wants to grow as a game creator.
Ethan and Hila's YouTube channel has humble beginnings in 2013 Israel as the couple work to make ends meet while dreaming about an exciting life. Everything changes when an unexpected threat to the internet pushes them into a goofy, globe-spanning adventure full of wacky personalities and mysteries to solve. Both popular and classic memes from H3H3's videos come together to form a zany plot pushing Ethan, Hila, and friends into a journey to save the internet before it's plunged into an apocalypse of Facebook "freebooting", clickbait, and kissing pranks. Celebrity cameos and living memes galore.
Current Known Demo Issues (Updated January 23, 2017):
-Can run laggy on older PCs.
-Mac version requires you to allow apps downloaded from "anywhere" to be enabled in System Preferences. See instructions after you click "Download Now".
-Rare but possible error where the game loads without collision detection. If you're walking through walls, reset the game and this should fix the problem.
-Known instance of endless loading screen glitch when trying to open with Ubuntu.

This is most likely not a problem with the game! It's an Apple permissions issue. (They like you to use their official Mac App Store.)
There are two ways to get around this:
1. Right-Click (Control-Click) and select 'Open' on the application or...
2. Follow these steps to play the game:
- Open the System Preferences. There are two approaches: - Click on the System Preferences icon in the Dock - Selecting Apple Menu > System Preferences.
- Next open the Security & Privacy pane by clicking Security & Privacy. (Make sure that the General tab is selected.)
- Click the icon labeled "Click the lock to make changes" in the bottom-left corner.
- Enter your username and password into the prompt that appears and click Unlock. (If you have no password, this can be left blank).
- Under the section labeled "Allow applications downloaded from:", select the option "Anywhere". On the prompt that appears, click "Allow From Anywhere."
- Click the lock icon.
- Click apply.
